The church sits alone on a gentle rise above the village, its tower visible for miles across the Lincolnshire flatlands. All Saints is a proper medieval structure - mostly 14th century - and stepping inside feels like walking into a moment the rest of the county forgot about. The interior is surprisingly spacious, with clean lines and decent windows that flood the nave with light on a clear day.

What strikes you first is how quiet it is. No crowds, no gift shop, no interpretive panels telling you what to think. Just stone, timber, and the kind of stillness that makes you actually notice the details - the carved roof timbers, the old font, the sense that generations of locals have knelt in these pews. The tower offers views across the surrounding countryside if you fancy the climb, though access depends on what's unlocked on the day.

This isn't a destination on its own, honestly. You're not driving two hours out of your way for it. But if you're based at one of the local glamping spots - Bain View or Longwool Shepherd Huts are closest, or the Woodhall Spa Camping and Caravanning Club Site if you want something more formal - it's worth a morning wander. Horncastle is five miles away and has proper shops and cafes if you need feeding after. Allow 30 minutes to an hour depending on how much you linger. Free entry, as far as I could establish, though these places often work on trust for the collection box.
