Allanside House

Allanside House sits on the outskirts of Dunblane, a proper 18th-century townhouse that tells you something real about Scottish domestic life during the Georgian era. Dunblane itself is worth exploring - the cathedral is substantial and worth seeing. If you're staying at either Witches Craig or Craighead Howf, both excellent parks within a few miles, Allanside makes a sensible morning stop before moving on to bigger attractions in Stirling proper. Go midweek if you can; weekends get busier.
