Practically speaking, Sanquhar itself is small and manageable, sat between the Southern Uplands and some genuinely fine moorland walking. If you're staying at Sunnyside Lodges just down the road - and at five stars it's worth booking - the Andromeda is a decent rainy-day option without feeling like you're compromising on the break. The gallery works best for adult visitors or teenagers who actually engage with art. Young kids will be bored within fifteen minutes.
