The gallery sits in this quiet corner of Cumbria, and what you get is genuine engagement with the art rather than that glazed shuffle through endless white walls.

The pieces have real presence. Lloyd works with colour and form in ways that catch the light differently depending on when you visit, so even if you've been before, you'll notice something new. Whether you're an active collector or just someone who likes to spend an hour looking at things that make you think, there's substance here. Not a gallery for the five-minute dash.

Millom itself is a proper coastal working town - nothing twee about it - which means the gallery feels genuinely embedded in the place rather than parachuted in for tourists. Visiting works well if you're basing yourself at Harbour Lights Campsite just down the road, or the rather more upmarket High Haume Glamping a few miles inland. You could easily spend a morning here, grab lunch in town, then push on to explore the wider Cumbrian coast.

The walk from either campsite is manageable. You'll get a real sense of Millom proper rather than just the holiday park version. And that's worth the trek in itself.
