Ash Spring Wood

Walking into Ash Spring Wood from near Goole feels like stepping back in time. The woodland is genuinely old - you can tell from the massive ash trees and the way the ground slopes into proper ravines that water has carved through here for centuries. It's the kind of place where you notice things: ancient roots gripping the earth, light filtering through in dusty beams, the smell of damp leaf litter after rain.
