Bewdley Brewery

Craft beer enthusiasts will find a proper treat tucked away in this working brewery just outside Bewdley's town centre. The operation runs from what looks like an industrial unit, but don't let appearances fool you - they're producing some seriously good ales here. Tours run regularly throughout the week, taking you through the brewing process from grain to glass. You'll see the mash tuns bubbling away and learn how their flagship Worcestershire Way bitter gets its distinctive hoppy finish. The tasting session afterwards is generous, featuring four or five different brews including their popular seasonal specials. Staff know their stuff and are happy to chat about the technicalities without being boring about it. Families are welcome, though it's really aimed at adults who appreciate good beer. The shop stocks bottles to take away, plus local ciders and spirits. Allow around 90 minutes for the full experience. Weekdays tend to be quieter if you prefer a more intimate tour. It's a cracking addition to a holiday at nearby Blackstone Meadow or Hopleys Family Camping - both less than two miles away. Little Lakes Holiday Park is also within easy reach at 2.2 miles. Perfect for a rainy afternoon when you fancy something different from the usual Shropshire countryside walks.
