The view from Bluebell Hill catches you off guard - suddenly the Medway Valley opens up below, and you understand why people drive out from Aylesford specifically for this spot. It's a proper vantage point, the kind of place where you can see for miles on a clear day, and the picnic area itself is straightforward: a car park, some benches, nothing fancy, but that's rather the point.

Walkers tend to love it because the hill sits along decent footpaths, so you can combine a sit-down lunch with a decent ramble across the North Downs. The bluebells themselves are the real draw in late spring - carpets of them under the trees make it feel less like a lay-by and more like you've found something proper. Summer and early autumn work just as well if you're after the views without the crowds.

This works particularly well if you're based at Kits Coty Glamping, just half a mile away - close enough for a morning walk with packed lunch, far enough that you feel like you've ventured somewhere. Oak View Holiday Park, three and a bit miles south, is also within easy reach. You could easily spend an hour here, maybe two if you're combining it with a longer walk across the downs.
