Bull Point Lighthouse

The lighthouse sits on a proper dramatic headland just north of Woolacombe, its white tower standing guard over some genuinely impressive cliffs. It's not a working beacon anymore, but that doesn't matter - the building itself is striking enough, and the location is what makes it worth the trek.

You can't go inside (it's private), but the walk out to it is the real draw. The coastal path gets you there in about twenty minutes from the beach, and the views back along the Devon coast are genuinely spectacular - rugged and wild, especially when the Atlantic's throwing its weight around. Low tide reveals rockpools and stretches of sand that disappear fast, so timing matters if you want the full experience.

Families with older kids will find it manageable; younger ones might flag on the uneven terrain. History types will appreciate the Victorian engineering, though there's not much interpretation on site - bring a guidebook if you want the backstory. The walk itself is free, and you can easily spend an hour up here without getting bored.

If you're staying at Golden Sands Touring Park or any of the Woolacombe cluster, this is a cracking half-day out. Pair it with a morning at the beach and you've got a proper day sorted. Go when the weather's decent - this headland gets battered when a storm rolls in, and there's no shelter whatsoever.
