Caernarfon Marina

Victoria Dock sits right in the heart of Caernarfon, transforming what was once a working harbour into a proper leisure marina. The pontoons bob with sailing boats and motor cruisers, while the waterside cafes and restaurants make the most of their harbour views.

Families will find plenty to keep everyone happy here. The kids can watch boats coming and going while you grab a coffee, and there's decent parking if you're staying at one of the nearby parks like Coed Helen or Glan Gwna. The marina connects nicely with the town centre too - you can easily walk from here to Caernarfon Castle in about ten minutes.

What makes this spot work is its relaxed atmosphere. Unlike some marinas that feel a bit sterile, this one has character. Local fishing boats still use parts of the harbour, so there's always something happening on the water. The waterfront path is pushchair-friendly, and there are benches facing the Menai Strait if you fancy sitting a while.

It's not going to fill a whole day, but it's a lovely spot to wander after exploring Caernarfon's medieval streets. The marina really comes alive on summer evenings when the restaurant terraces fill up. Free to explore, and well worth combining with a castle visit if you're making a day of it in town.
