Captain Jack’s Crazy Golf

Two massive pirate ships dominate the skyline at this themed crazy golf course on Mablethorpe's seafront. Captain Jack's takes the whole buccaneer thing seriously, with cutlass-wielding figurehead and cannon obstacles scattered across 18 holes that wind between the vessels.

Kids absolutely love the theatrical setup - there's proper swashbuckling atmosphere with treasure chests, skull and crossbones, and rigging to navigate around. The holes themselves are well-designed, offering genuine challenges rather than just token obstacles. Some require decent aim to avoid the water hazards, while others demand you thread putts through narrow gaps in ship hulls.

Families staying at nearby Golden Sands or the camping sites around Sutton-on-Sea will find this makes a cracking afternoon out when the beach gets too breezy. It's proper seaside entertainment that works whatever the weather, though like most Lincolnshire coast attractions, it's seasonal.

The course takes about an hour to complete, longer if you've got competitive teenagers keeping score. Younger children might need help with some of the trickier shots, but that's half the fun.
