Castlerigg Hall Caravan, Camping, Glamping Park

Castlerigg Hall sits just outside Keswick on the edge of the Lake District, and it's far more than a place to park your caravan. The location itself is the main draw - you're positioned at the foot of Catbells, with proper fell views that'll have you reaching for your camera before breakfast. It's a working holiday park with all the expected facilities, but what makes it stand out is the access. You can walk straight onto the fells from your pitch, which means families with children get genuine outdoors time without needing to drive anywhere first.

The park works well as a base if you're planning to explore the Keswick area on foot. Catbells is a cracking walk - steep but short, takes about an hour and a half up and down - and you can start from your tent or caravan. If that sounds too much like hard work, the nearby town of Keswick itself is walkable, with shops, pubs, and that excellent lake access. Nearby parks like Keswick Camping and Caravanning Club offer similar amenities but without the fell views, so you're paying for the geography here.

Stay a few nights minimum. One night feels rushed when the landscape is this good. Peak season gets rammed, so shoulder months - May or September - are worth timing your visit around. It's genuinely useful for walkers and families who want their holiday base to double as their jumping-off point.
