The Peveril Centre sits right at the heart of Castleton village, a Victorian Methodist chapel that's been doing double duty as the community hub for years now. Grab a tea, grab a map, grab the real story of Hope Valley rather than the guidebook version.

Families will appreciate the café and the fact kids can actually run around without feeling like they're in a museum. Walkers should stop here for route advice before heading out to the surrounding moorland. The exhibition changes seasonally, and admission is free - it's funded by the community, which is rather rather nice.
