The walk up Clogwyn Pwrsiog doesn't announce itself loudly, which is rather the point. This modest peak sits just outside Talsarnau in Gwynedd, and from the summit you get proper views across the Snowdonia foothills without the queues you'd find on the bigger names. It's a straightforward hill walk - nothing technical, nothing that requires a map and compass obsession - but it rewards the effort with wide-open moorland vistas once you're up there.

The ascent takes the best part of an hour if you're not rushing, and the terrain switches between grassy paths and rougher ground underfoot. Bring decent boots; it gets boggy after rain. The real appeal here is the quiet. Come on a weekday or outside peak summer months and you might well have the place to yourself, which feels increasingly rare around North Wales these days.

This is a solid choice for anyone staying at one of the nearby caravan parks - Barcdy or Tyddyn Llwyn are closest, both within a couple of miles - who want a proper walk without driving anywhere. Families with older children will manage it fine; younger ones might grumble on the way down. The walk itself takes roughly two hours return depending on fitness and how long you linger at the top.

Worth doing if you're in the area camping or caravanning? Absolutely. Skip it if you're after dramatic Alpine scenery or if you're only in the region for an afternoon.
