Conhuith Plantation

The forest at Conhuith Plantation sits just outside Dumfries and makes for a solid half-day walk if you're staying in the area. It's a working forestry plantation - so don't expect pristine wilderness - but the mix of conifers and established woodland does give you proper green breathing room when you need it.

The main draw here is straightforward: marked trails through mixed forest, decent enough for families with older kids or anyone wanting a gentle woodland stroll.
