Cradoc Cabin

The cabin sits alone on the moorland above Brecon, a simple stone structure that feels older than its bones suggest. The moorland around it is free to roam, though the cabin itself is just something to discover as you walk.

If you're camping nearby - and there's no shortage of proper spots within a few miles - it makes a cracking waypoint on a day's expedition. Cefn Cantref Campsite and Pencelli Castle are close enough that you could base yourself there and work this into a longer route. The area suits walkers far more than families after a quick attraction to tick off. Kids might find it interesting for five minutes, but there's not much to actually do. Winter is brutal up here; spring and autumn are when the moorland shows itself best. Bring a map, decent boots, and respect the weather - it changes fast.
