It's no grand Victorian reading room - think functional, modern, and genuinely useful if you need to grab a book or use the computers for an hour.

The appeal here is straightforward. If you're camping or glamping at Dorset Glamping, Haven Rockley Park, or South Lytchett Manor just down the road, and you've got restless kids who need something to do on a wet afternoon, the library does the job. The children's section is decent enough. Adults after something to read will find the usual mix of fiction and reference material. Free admission, naturally.

Don't expect to spend more than an hour here, and that's being generous. It's not a destination in itself - it's a backup plan, a practical stop rather than something to build your day around. Weekday afternoons tend to be quieter than mornings when the school runs happen. Saturday's shortened hours mean you'll need to get there by early afternoon if that's your plan.
