Cruinn a' Bheinn

The walk up Cruinn a' Bheinn from Alexandria takes you into proper hill country without the commitment of a major Munro. Younger kids might find the moorland section tedious unless the weather's exceptional.

It's not a destination peak that draws crowds the way Ben Lomond does, which means you might have the summit to yourself. That's worth something. The bonus is the quick return to Alexandria for a proper cup of tea and a rest - none of this getting back to base knackered nonsense.
