A shallow lake just outside Shifnal that's genuinely lovely for a quiet afternoon walk. The water's ringed with trees, and it's the sort of place where you'll actually see waterfowl rather than crowds. Locals use it for peaceful circuits, and it's dead easy to slot into a park holiday in the area - Worfe Camping is barely a stone's throw away.

The pool itself is small enough that you won't feel overwhelmed, but big enough to make a proper walk out of it. There's something satisfying about a lake that doesn't try too hard. Families with young kids will manage fine here - it's flat, safe, and you can turn back whenever. Birdwatchers might get more out of it than your average visitor, and it's exactly the sort of place that works brilliantly in winter when it's peaceful and the light's interesting.

How long you spend is entirely up to you. Twenty minutes for a quick loop, or an hour if you want to actually sit and watch the water. We'd not heard about it being paid entry, and it reads like a local's spot rather than a ticketed attraction. If you're staying at Worfe Camping just over there, you've practically got it on your doorstep - could be a nice break from driving if you've got restless passengers.
