Duloe Skatepark

Just outside Looe, Duloe Skatepark sits in what's technically classified as a nature reserve - though that description slightly undersells what's actually a proper bit of Cornish countryside with a functioning skate facility tucked into it. The location is genuinely lovely, with enough green space around the park to make it feel less like a built-up recreational hub and more like something that's grown organically into the landscape.

It's primarily a draw for skateboarders and BMX riders, obviously. But if you're camping nearby - and there's no shortage of options within a few miles, with Waterside and Tregoad Holiday Park just 2.5 miles away - it's worth knowing about if you've got teenagers who need to burn off energy. The park itself is free to use, which is a solid deal. The setting means you could easily combine a visit with a proper walk, or just let the kids do laps while you find a quiet spot to read.

Timing-wise, best to avoid peak weekends when local riders congregate. Early mornings are quieter. If you're staying at Tencreek or Lydcott Glamping - both 3.5 miles south - it's a straightforward drive into Looe proper, with the skatepark en route as a handy diversion.

For families with younger kids, it's less essential. But for anyone with skaters in tow, this beats watching them queue for an indoor park. The fact it's set in proper countryside rather than tarmac and fencing is a genuine selling point.
