Dymchurch Amusement Park sits right on the Romney Marsh coast, a proper old-school fairground that's been entertaining families for decades. It's the kind of place where you'll find traditional rides - dodgems, a log flume, arcade games, and the sort of attractions that don't require you to have your lunch confiscated before boarding. The park has that nostalgic seaside feel rather than a slick corporate vibe, which means it works brilliantly for younger kids and families after a simple afternoon out.

You're looking at a couple of hours maximum here unless you've got small children who want to do everything twice. The rides are straightforward enough, and the whole place has a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere that's become rarer on the Kent coast. It's not the sort of destination you'd build a holiday around, but it's an excellent afternoon filler when you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks - Cabu by the Sea or New Beach Holiday Park are practically on your doorstep.

So while Dymchurch Amusement Park won't keep teenagers occupied for long, it's a solid half-day option that justifies a trip when you're already camping or caravanning in the area. Worth checking opening times before you visit - these places can be seasonal.
