The rolling terrain means you'll get views as you play, though fairways can be unforgiving if your handicap's not up to it.

Golfers will spend a solid day here, maybe four and a half hours minimum per round. The course is well-maintained and genuinely challenging without feeling like a municipal layout with delusions of grandeur. If you're decent at golf, it's worth the detour from Lewes. If you're a beginner or casual player, you might find it a bit much - there are easier courses in Sussex that won't frustrate your week away.

The spa element means non-golfers aren't entirely left out, though a spa attached to a golf resort isn't going to compete with a proper wellness destination. What works best is bunching a few rounds here with stays at nearby spots like Dernwood Farm Glamping or Golden Cross Holiday Park, both within five miles. You get proper golfing days without being locked into a resort hotel.
