Banger racing at its most authentic - that's what you get at this proper grassroots motorsport venue just outside Beccles. The oval track hosts everything from stock car meetings to destruction derbies, and the noise is absolutely brilliant if you're into that sort of thing. Kids will love watching cars deliberately crash into each other, though bring ear protection.

Race meetings typically run from spring through autumn, with evening sessions under floodlights being particularly atmospheric. The crowd gets properly involved, cheering their favourite drivers and booing the villains - it's pantomime with horsepower. Expect basic facilities: burger vans, tea huts, and concrete terracing rather than corporate hospitality.

This isn't Silverstone, and that's exactly the point. Racing enthusiasts will appreciate the close-up action and affordable entry, while families staying at nearby spots like Kessingland Beach Holiday Park or Pakefield Holiday Park will find it makes a cracking alternative to another day on the beach. Allow three hours for a full race meeting.

Worth checking their website before travelling as events aren't weekly, and weather can affect outdoor meetings. The atmosphere when a big demolition derby is on is electric, but quieter stock car nights might test younger attention spans after an hour or so.
