The walk itself isn't brutal, though it does climb, and you'll find yourself looking out over the Mendips and surrounding countryside in a way that makes the effort worthwhile.

This works best for walkers who've already got their boots on and are exploring the wider area. Families with younger kids might find it a bit of a slog for what amounts to a view and a breather, though teenagers who like being outdoors won't complain. History types will appreciate that you're standing somewhere with a proper sense of place, even if the details aren't immediately obvious.
