The woodland at Fifty Six Acre Covert feels properly removed from the coast, even though Bridlington's only a short drive away. You're walking through decent-sized trees with good paths underfoot - the kind of place where you can actually breathe properly after a day of seaside crowds.

It's a forest walk, plain and simple. There's no visitor centre or tea room, just trees, quiet, and space to stretch your legs. The paths wind through mixed woodland, and if you're lucky with timing you'll catch the light filtering through in that particular way that makes you glad you brought a camera. Families with kids under eight might find it a bit samey after half an hour, but older children and proper walkers will get a solid hour or more out of it.

Go on a weekday if you can manage it. Weekends pull in the local crowd, which rather defeats the purpose of coming to a forest. Early morning is genuinely lovely - you'll have the place virtually to yourself.

Since you're staying at either Flamborough Glamping or Haven Thornwick Bay, this makes a cracking rainy-day option when the beach gets too blustery. It's close enough for a quick escape but far enough to feel like proper countryside rather than a park amenity. Free to access and no time limit means you can potter about as long as you fancy. The woodland's decent exercise too if you're after something more active than the caravan site.
