The Friends Meeting House in Chesham is a working Quaker place of worship that tells you quite a lot about the area's religious history without any of the usual church pomp. It's a modest building - nothing grand about it - which is entirely in keeping with Quaker principles. You'll find it a quiet spot for reflection, and if you time it right, you might catch a Sunday meeting where you can observe their approach to worship in silence and contemplation.

If you're basing yourself at one of the nearby campsites - Whelpley Hill Park is barely three miles away, or Norcott Campsite if you fancy something with more character - this makes a good half-hour detour during a Chilterns exploration. Amersham itself is just down the road and offers considerably more in the way of restaurants and amenities if you need them. Worth checking opening hours before you visit, as it's run by volunteers and times can be irregular.
