Younger children may find it underwhelming - it's not much to look at in photographs, and there's nothing interactive about standing before a weathered rock.

If you're camping at Harbour Lights or glamping at High Haume, the Gallows Stone makes sense as part of a proper moorland walk rather than a destination in itself. The nearby footpaths offer far more reward than the stone alone. Free, always accessible, and genuinely atmospheric on grey days when the mist rolls in. Worth finding if you're already out walking. Worth planning a trip around? Probably not.
