Families might find it a bit underwhelming on its own, though it works well as part of a broader walk around Bicester's aviation heritage.

The gate is freely accessible and costs nothing to see. Allow ten minutes maximum if you're just visiting the gate itself. The real value comes if you're staying at one of the nearby caravan parks - Glebe Leisure Touring Caravan Park is just 1.4 miles away, or Barton Hill Farm at 3.9 miles - and using it as a starting point for exploring the wider Bicester area. Combine it with a walk around the old airfield perimeter or a visit to town and you've got something worthwhile. Bit of a specialist interest, this one, but genuinely interesting if wartime history is your thing.
