Go Frolic - Dog Walking Field

Go Frolic is a proper dog-walking field on the outskirts of Ipswich - the sort of place where your spaniel can actually run without a lead and burn off some energy. It's open grassland, straightforward, nothing fancy. You turn up, let your dog loose, and they can have a proper gallop for half an hour or so. No agility courses or gimmicks, just space.

It works best for families with high-energy dogs who are fed up with town parks and pavements. If your dog struggles with recall or you've got a young pup still learning boundaries, this gives you a safe spot to practice without the stress of hedgerows or livestock to worry about. A single loop takes most people twenty minutes to half an hour, depending on how many times your dog decides to find the muddiest bit available.

The field's genuinely free, open during daylight hours - though I'd ring ahead if weather's been grim, as it can get boggy. Summer's your best bet. Winter mornings turn it into a bit of a swamp.

If you're based at Wheathill or The Lost Garden Retreat nearby, this saves you a drive into town to find decent off-lead space. Both parks are close enough that you could knock this into a morning routine - breakfast at the caravan, twenty-minute walk here, back by mid-morning. Not worth a special trip on its own, but absolutely worth knowing about if you're parking a family in the area with a dog that needs exercising.
