Is-coed Wood

Ancient oaks and towering beech trees stretch across this atmospheric woodland just outside Ferryside, where well-worn paths wind through dappled sunlight and moss-covered stones. Is-coed Wood feels properly wild - the sort of place where you half expect to stumble across a fairy ring or find yourself in a Celtic legend.

Walkers will love the network of trails that crisscross the forest, though be prepared for muddy patches after rain and some fairly steep sections. The kids might grumble about the climbs, but the reward is worth it - glimpses of the Towy Estuary through the canopy and plenty of fallen logs perfect for impromptu picnics.
