Your dog will actually have the time of its life here, which is rather the point. K9 Unleashed, just outside Great Yarmouth, is a dedicated off-lead dog park where your pup can run, play, and socialise without spending the entire walk on a lead.

It's straightforward stuff but done properly. There's space for dogs to burn proper energy, and if you've got a hound that's been cooped up in a caravan all week, this is exactly the kind of break you both need. The setup caters to dogs of all sizes and temperaments, though obviously you need to read your own dog and other dogs around you.

Allow a solid hour if you're making a proper outing of it. Bring water, especially on warm days. Most dogs will knacker themselves out faster than you'd expect, which means peace and quiet back at the caravan - no bad thing.

It slots well into a Norfolk Broads park holiday. If you're staying at Clippesby Hall or Norfolk Broads Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite, both just a couple of miles away, you can nip over without losing half a day. Even Norfolk Broads Haven, the highest-rated of the local parks at 4.3 stars, is only five miles distant.

Truth is, dog owners don't get many proper breaks during a park holiday. Most beaches and attractions have restrictions. This gives your dog freedom and you a genuine tick-box activity that works around your caravan schedule. Worth the detour if you're travelling with a dog.
