A working tennis club just outside Daventry, Kilsby offers proper club tennis rather than a visitor attraction in the traditional sense. If you're staying at one of the nearby caravan parks - EWE Glamping or Manor Farm are closest - and you've got a racket in the boot, it's worth ringing ahead to see if they'll have you for a game or session.

The club runs coaching for juniors and competitive play for members, so it's not a drop-in leisure facility. That said, many local clubs are surprisingly welcoming to holidaymakers if you ask nicely. You'd be looking at a couple of hours if you find a match or lesson, though realistically this is only worth the detour if tennis is genuinely your thing.

The village itself is quiet - the kind of place you pass through rather than stop in. For families wanting actual entertainment alongside tennis, Caravan Park At Stanford Hall is slightly further out but gives you the hall's grounds to explore as well. If you're just here to play rather than sightsee, Kilsby does the job without fuss. Ring them first though - turning up on spec to a sports club rarely ends well.
