Larg Hill

The walk up Larg Hill from Newton Stewart takes roughly ninety minutes if you're moving at a decent pace, and the reward is a proper panorama across Dumfries and Galloway. The surrounding moorland is honest and open, no faffing about with woodland paths here.

It pairs well with staying at Galloway Forest Holiday Park, which sits only a few miles away and gives you access to some of Scotland's best outdoor territory without heading into the Highlands proper.
