LaserZone in Brighton is an indoor laser tag arena where you and your group suit up, grab a gun, and spend thirty minutes or so hunting each other through a darkened maze of corridors and obstacles. It's the sort of place that sounds cheesier than it actually is. The setup is straightforward - you're kitted out with a vest and laser rifle, given a quick briefing on the rules, and then released into a deliberately confusing layout where visibility is deliberately poor and every corner could hide a rival player.

Families with kids aged eight upwards tend to get the most fun out of it, though competitive teenagers will absolutely thrash their younger siblings here. Adults playing seriously are another matter entirely - some people take this far too seriously. The pace is relentless and the physicality catches you off guard if you're not fit.

If you're staying at Pegs and Pitches Camping nearby, LaserZone makes for a decent rainy-day option or an evening activity when you're tired of walking. It won't consume your whole holiday, but as a couple of hours of controlled chaos before heading back to the campsite for a brew, it does the job. Fair warning though - it's dark, loud, and genuinely sweaty. Bring a change of shirt if you're staying somewhere without laundry facilities.
