Littlemore Library

A proper local library in the village of Littlemore, just south of Oxford. It's the sort of place you'd wander into if you were staying at one of the nearby caravan sites - Cedar Hollow Oxford or Durham Leys Farm - and needed somewhere quiet to sit with a book on a rainy afternoon.

The library itself is small and straightforward. You'll find the usual mix of fiction, non-fiction, and children's books, plus computers if you need to check emails. It's free to use, though borrowing requires membership. The staff are helpful without being intrusive, which is how it should be.

Who'll get the most from it? Honestly, families with kids who want a break from the caravan, or anyone who's forgotten a paperback. It's not a destination in itself - you wouldn't drive here specially. But if you're cycling or walking around Littlemore and the weather turns, it's a solid refuge. The opening hours are a bit patchy (closed Wednesday, limited Friday hours) so check before you head over.

The real draw of staying near Oxford is the surrounding parks and the city itself. Littlemore Library is more of a practical stop than a highlight. Allow thirty minutes maximum, longer if you're genuinely after a new read. Visit on a Thursday or Saturday morning when you've got decent hours to play with.
