The trim trail at Liverpool Road isn't the sort of thing you'd plan a day trip around, but if you're staying at Oakwood Farm Touring Park or anywhere else near Chester, it's a decent way to burn some energy without mucking about. It's basically a proper outdoor fitness course - the sort with pull-up bars, balance beams, and those step platforms dotted along a walking route.

You'll get most out of this if you've got teenagers who need to move about, or if you're the type who actually uses those park benches for something other than sitting on them. It's free, obviously, and you can do the whole thing in twenty minutes if you're not hanging about. The walk itself is straightforward enough, nothing demanding.

Where it sits in a broader Cheshire trip is as a quick stop rather than a destination. Pair it with a walk into Chester itself - the city centre's walkable from here and has proper medieval streets worth seeing. If the kids are getting bored or restless mid-holiday, it breaks things up. But don't expect anything beyond the basics. It's functional fitness in a field, done well enough, but not remarkable. Best visited on a dry day when the equipment isn't slick.
