Lower Boswedden Cliff

The walk down to Lower Boswedden Cliff rewards you with one of those views that makes you understand why people move to Cornwall. It's a proper coastal scramble - nothing technical, but the path gets steep enough that you'll feel the backs of your legs working. From the clifftop you're looking straight out across Mount's Bay towards Mousehole and St Michael's Mount, which sits like a chess piece on the horizon on clear days.

This is best for walkers who don't mind a bit of gradient and want somewhere quieter than Penzance's seafront. You won't get crowds here. Families with younger kids might find the return trip tiring - it's not long but it's relentless uphill on the way back. The real magic happens late afternoon when the light softens and you've got the place almost to yourself.

It's free and takes about forty minutes there and back, though you'll want longer just to sit and stare. Go when the wind's not trying to shove you off the rocks - winter gales make it dicey. Combine it with a base at Roselands Caravan Camping Park, just 2.3 miles away, and you've got access to this stretch of coast without fighting for parking in town. Lands End Camping is another option if you're exploring further west, though it's nearly twice the distance.
