Millennium Green Play Park

The Millennium Green Play Park sits on the edge of Withernsea, a proper working nature reserve rather than a manicured attraction. You get woodland paths, open grassland, and genuine habitat for local wildlife - the sort of place where you might actually spot something interesting rather than just walk past plastic signs telling you what used to live there.

It's excellent for families with young kids who need room to run about without the theme-park atmosphere. Older children keen on nature will find more to occupy them than you'd expect from a town-edge reserve. The walking is straightforward, nothing demanding, so it suits all ages and fitness levels.

There's no entrance fee - it's simply there for locals and visitors to use. Allow 45 minutes to an hour if you're doing a proper loop, less if you just want a quick circuit. The best time is spring or early summer when the bird activity picks up and the woodland's actually got something happening in it. Autumn's pleasant too if you time it right.
