Milo's Meadow (Heckington off Lead Dog Park)

A field near Heckington that's gone a bit feral in the best possible way. Milo's Meadow sits just off Lead Dog Park and has become something of a local favourite for anyone wanting to stretch their legs without the formality of a proper visitor attraction.

What you're getting here is essentially grassland that's been left to do its own thing - wildflowers in season, the odd path worn through by people walking dogs, and genuinely decent views across the Lincolnshire flatlands. It's the sort of place that rewards a wander rather than a quick photo stop. In spring and early summer, when everything's flowering, it's worth the trip from Boston. Winter visits feel a bit bleak, if I'm honest.

This works best for walkers and anyone with a dog in tow. Kids might manage twenty minutes before asking when you're leaving, unless they're the type who like making daisy chains and spotting insects. There's no infrastructure to speak of - no café, no toilets, no marked trails - so you need to be reasonably self-sufficient.

Big Sky Hideaway Camping and Glamping is only five miles away, making Milo's Meadow a decent addition to a park stay in the area if you want something low-key. It won't eat up your holiday time, but on a decent afternoon it's a perfectly pleasant amble. Don't expect drama, just decent countryside.
