Miriam's Cave

Water drips steadily from limestone walls as you duck through the narrow entrance to this natural cave system carved into the cliffs near Llandudno. Miriam's Cave feels properly wild and uncommercialised - there's no gift shop or guided tours, just raw rock formations and the sound of your own footsteps echoing.

The cave extends back into the hillside for a decent stretch, though you'll want a decent torch to explore properly. Families with young children should think twice - the uneven floor and low ceiling make it tricky going for little ones, and there's no safety barriers or lighting. Teenage adventurers and geology enthusiasts will find it far more appealing.
