They run themed scenarios. I did one that involved piecing together clues scattered across the space, which sounds daft written down but actually gets your brain firing. The puzzles sit at that sweet spot where you feel clever solving them without needing a PhD in cryptography. Groups of four to eight work best. Kids can come along if they're old enough to read and think strategically - not a rainy-day softplay situation.

Budget an hour on site, though arrive fifteen minutes early for the brief. It costs money, obviously, but I'd call it fair value for what you get. Book online first rather than showing up hoping.

If you're camping at Fontmills Farm up the road, this makes a decent evening activity - kills a couple of hours without burning petrol driving elsewhere. Pevensey itself has the castle ruins if you want something free and historical to balance out the afternoon. Worth doing if escape rooms appeal to you; skip it if they don't.
