Royston's Nucleus Fitness Centre is a proper working gym - the kind of place locals actually use rather than somewhere built purely for tourists. It's got the standard kit you'd expect: weights, cardio machines, classes running throughout the day. Nothing flashy, nothing trying to be Instagram-worthy. Just straightforward fitness facilities.

If you're staying at one of the nearby campsites - Pightle Farm, Hidden Gem Glamping, or HappenOak Treehouse - and you can't face a week without a decent workout, this is your best bet in the area. Royston's not exactly awash with gyms, so Nucleus fills a proper gap. Day passes are available if you're only passing through, though I'd ring ahead to confirm current rates and opening hours as these things change.

That said, it's not a destination in itself. You're not going to plan a holiday around a fitness centre, and families with young kids won't find much beyond perhaps a swimming pool if they're lucky. It works best as a practical stop during a longer stay in Cambridgeshire - somewhere to blow off steam before heading out to explore the countryside properly.

You'd want to allow an hour or so, maybe ninety minutes if you're doing a full session. The location near Royston makes it fairly accessible from all three campsites, so it's worth knowing about if exercise matters to you.
