Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Grange

The Church of Our Lady of Lourdes sits in Grange, just outside Kilkeel, and it's a proper working parish church with real character. It's not a ruin or a medieval marvel - this is a living community church, so dress respectfully and be mindful of service times. The surrounding area is what really matters though. You're bang in the heart of Mourne country, with proper hill walks on the doorstep and the coast just down the road. Kilkeel itself has decent facilities and a working fishing harbour if you need a proper bite.

For families camped at Sandilands or Chestnutt just down the road, it's worth a quiet morning visit before heading into the hills. Walkers tackling the Mourne range could easily slot this in as a spiritual break mid-trip. History enthusiasts will find it interesting as a snapshot of mid-century Irish religious life, though it's not going to compete with the region's medieval sites.
