Parklands Park

Rolling green space just outside Oxford, Parklands Park is the sort of place you'd stumble upon while exploring Northamptonshire's quieter corners. It's a proper leisure park - nothing too fancy, just open grounds, trees, and room to breathe. You'll find walking paths threading through, ideal if you're after a gentle stretch of the legs without committing to a full-blown hike.

Walkers and families with younger children get the most from it. There's enough space for dogs to run about, and it's the kind of spot where you can kill an hour or two without feeling like you've missed something crucial. Don't expect manicured gardens or themed attractions - this is straightforward countryside leisure.

The nearest proper base would be staying at Anita's Touring Caravan Park, just four miles away, or Fir Tree Campsite at 4.4 miles if you want to be properly close. Both put you within spitting distance of Parklands, so it works well as a half-morning diversion while camping in the area. Newton Grove and Mount Farm Park, further out at 5.6 and 5.7 miles respectively, still make decent launching points for a visit.

Bring the family or go solo - honestly, it doesn't matter much either way. Worth a wander if you're in the neighbourhood, though probably not worth driving miles out of your way for.
