Quex House is the former home of Percy Powell-Cotton, a man who spent his life amassing one of the most extraordinary natural history collections in the country - and his heirs have left it exactly as he'd want it.

The museum inside is genuinely absorbing if you're into taxidermy, ethnographic objects, or just the whole Victorian obsession with cataloguing the world. African wildlife dominates the displays, alongside weapons, masks, and artefacts that speak to a particular era of collecting.
