Redlingfield Wood

The woodland around Redlingfield, just east of Eye in Suffolk, is proper walking country - the kind of place where you actually want to get muddy. You can potter about free of charge, naturally. There's no visitor centre or facilities, so bring a packed lunch if you're settling in for hours. The nearest proper base is Hill Farm Suffolk, a thoroughly rated holiday park just four miles away, which would make an ideal staging point for exploring the wider area. Even if the weather turns sketchy, Redlingfield Wood has that absorbing quality that keeps you wandering - the kind of place where time gets away from you in the best possible way.
