Roly's Fudge Pantry is exactly what it sounds like - a proper old-school sweetshop that takes its confectionery seriously. The window displays alone are worth stopping for: trays of handmade fudge in every flavour you can imagine, plus some you probably can't.

Inside, it's the kind of place where the owner actually knows what they're doing. You can watch them making the stuff, which beats watching someone print your holiday snaps any day. The range is genuinely impressive - salted caramel, rum and raisin, clotted cream, the classics done properly. There's always a queue of locals, which is the best endorsement a sweetshop can get.

It's not going to take hours. Twenty minutes max, unless you're the type who needs to taste test everything (fair enough, you should). Kids love it, though you'll need to manage expectations on budget - proper handmade fudge costs what proper handmade fudge should cost. Free to browse, obviously.
