Runmoor Dog Park

Your dog will lose its mind at Runmoor. It's a proper off-lead space just outside Exeter where dogs can actually be dogs - racing around, splashing through water, socialising with other mutts without the tension of a lead. The park's open enough that you can let them run without losing sight of them, and there's usually a good mix of breeds and sizes, so even nervous dogs tend to settle in quickly.

It works brilliantly as part of a touring holiday in the area. Barley Meadow is barely a mile away, and both Woodland Springs and Sunsets & Marshmallows glamping are close enough for a morning visit without faff. Families with dogs get the most from it - you get a genuine break while the dog burns energy, and it saves you from hours of lead-walking around Exeter itself.

The space feels well-maintained and there's enough going on that dogs don't get bored, though an hour is usually enough unless yours is the marathon-running type. Bring water, especially on warm days. The real win is that other dog owners actually look after the place - you won't find it strewn with mess. It's the sort of spot that makes a camping holiday actually relaxing rather than just a change of scenery, because your dog arrives back at the caravan knackered and ready for a proper sleep.
