The Rushden Historical Transport Society sits just outside Northampton and houses a proper collection of vintage trains, trams, and buses that they've actually restored themselves. You'll see steam locomotives, electric trams from the early 1900s, and the kind of double-decker buses that feel like stepping back into someone's grandfather's photo album.

The best bit is watching the volunteers potter about. They're not theatrical about it - they're just maintaining these machines because they matter. On running days, you can actually ride some of the trains, which beats standing on a platform taking photos by a country mile.
