Kids absolutely love it, especially the younger ones who find lying in the dark watching stars far more engaging than reading about Victorian Southend.

Location-wise, you're well placed if you're staying at Essex Glamping or Riverside Village Holiday Park - both are just a handful of miles away. Benfleet itself is close by, which is handy for grabbing lunch or picking up supplies. The actual seafront attractions are nearby too, so it combines well with a coastal break.

Winter months are quieter, which means better availability for planetarium slots. Summer can feel a bit crowded with school holidays. The site is straightforward to reach by car, and parking shouldn't be a headache. It's not a full-day attraction unless you're really into maritime history, but it's a solid rainy-day option and the planetarium genuinely impresses.
