About Spring Coppice
It's best for people who actually enjoy being in woodland rather than those after manicured parks. Walkers will appreciate the network of paths, though there's no circular route that's obvious on the ground - bring a map or decent phone signal. Kids aged six and up will manage fine; younger ones might struggle with the terrain and lack of facilities.
Free to enter, as far as I can tell. Allow an hour to ninety minutes depending on which way you wander. Early autumn's excellent when the light filters through properly and the undergrowth dies back enough to see where you're stepping.
It works well as a standalone walk from Shrewsbury itself, or you could pair it with other local green spaces if you're staying at one of the nearby parks - By the Wood Campsite, Spring Lea Holiday Park, or Cartref Caravan & Camping are all within a few miles. It's the kind of place that fills an afternoon without being a destination in itself. Real woodland, real walking, no pretence.
